THE FORBIDDEN - How Do You Prove (Fleetwood)

Pure genius on this moody monster. Issued on the scarce Fleetwood label (FL-4585), this is a true gem to my ears. A beautiful vocal tag intro, then gentle rhythm kicks the tune off. The lyrics are beyond the usual teenage-traumas. Check out the lovely muted guitar lines, the nice and understated organ work and, hell, is this a glockenspiel? The flip is called "My Silent Prayer" and is fab as well, but slightly off-center on my pressing.
THE D-MEN - No Hope For Me (Veep)

Prime, british invasion fuelled (in a good way, that is!) beat punker. Gotta dig that cool harmonies and the refrain that had "HIT" written all over it in 1964, when this great slab of wax was issued. The guitar chords are sharp and are full of classy reverb. Go for that ace organ break! What a great rocker.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to easier up-to-date-keeping, this section is about to move into a BLOG. You'll find the same type of stuff there on a (hopefully) more regular basis.
